An accelerated bachelor's degree is an undergraduate degree that is available either at campus based colleges and universities or through online schools. The accelerated bachelor's degree is designed for students who have an existing associate degree or who have partial college credits that are transferable. The accelerated bachelor's degree is also for students who hold a bachelor's degree in another major and perhaps want a career change or another undergraduate degree. Students who do not have any previous college credit can also obtain an accelerated bachelor's degree in approximately 3 years as opposed to the typical 4 years. Some schools even offer accelerated bachelor's degrees combined with a master's degree.
Accelerated bachelor's degrees are offered for a variety of areas of study including business, education, health care, or technology. Accelerated programs, whether on campus or online, are for the motivated, self-disciplined student. Online programs utilize a student's computer and the Internet, and classes are often completed one at a time over a 5 to 8 week period. On campus accelerated programs typically combine Internet learning and more flexible class times to accommodate students.
Earning an accelerated bachelor's degree is a valuable move for the individual seeking a career change, a promotion, faster entrance into the job market, or graduate school.
